It can be useful to have around if you have a video file that won't play in other players. However, it's a royal pain in the ass, because it insinuates itself into all Explorer "open with" options, and it can't be removed. All of the articles that say how to remove a program from "open with" by hacking the registry don't remove MPC-HC. Even shexview can't find it to remove it.
