Is is installed with the Canon IR5000 Printer

This is Canon Driver Information Assist Service. This enables bi-directional communication between the print server and the Image Runner series of printer/copiers
    (further information)
The file is part of the Canon Device Information Assist Service (DIAS) which acts as a communications link via TCP/IP between a user's desktop, a print server and the Canon Multifunction Device such as the iR5000 mentioned previously. It should only need to be installed on the print server itself and not on the desktop client PC's even when printing peer to peer. The desktop driver has a built-in communications tool to address direct communication. The DIAS is just a relay to allow the client to connect to the Canon device through a server.

If you have a Canon IR printer then you'll likely see it. It's called a Driver Information Assist Core Module, and (guessing here) I suspect it wants to see if the printer drivers are up-to-date

apparently it came to my xp computer with canon iR3570 driver installation.

cnxDIAS is know as Canon Device Information Assist Service an its needed to gain informations from canon printer through the printserver. I myself installed it from misc folder out of the pcl 6 generic plus driver from canon. We use it with pcl 6 generic plus driver to get paper source information of all trays. If u dont use device status information on client side u could deactivat or uninstall it.
